Right now I’m in the middle of reading Angela Duckworth, PhD’s book titled Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance. The book is worth the read, and the work that Duckworth has accomplished is truly inspired. In a very limited summation of what the book is about, I’ll quote one simple equation:
talent x effort = skill
skill x effort = achievement
Achievement is cultivated.
It doesn’t matter how slow you go, just don’t stop.
Stuck in rut? Not sure where forward is? The book not only talks about what the “secret to success/achievement” is, what it is not, but also offers the reader the tools to create a dedicated path for themselves. I’m only half way through and I can’t wait to re-read it.
(ps. this post isn’t sponsored in any way, it’s just my opinion)
